Daily Humanity HEAT drone training field exercise

Daily Humanity launches Ukraine's first HEAT training programme using live FPV drones — a three-day full course and a one-day Refresher — preparing journalists, humanitarian workers, and civilians for real drone-threat scenarios.

The Daily Humanity organization (2402 Foundation) has launched a unique training programme — HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) and a one-day Refresher using FPV drones. These are the first training programmes for civilians in Ukraine where modern threats of drone attacks are practiced in realistic scenarios using pyrotechnics and drones.

The programme has already been tested and received positive feedback from participants.

"Today we live in conditions where drones have become a weapon of daily attacks from Russia and Belarus — not only in Ukraine, but also in Poland, Moldova and other neighboring countries. This changes the security rules for journalists, humanitarian missions and businesses. Our trainings allow us to prepare people for action in the most difficult situations and form real security immunity."

— Kateryna Sergatskova, Executive Director and Safety Trainer, Daily Humanity

Why Is This Relevant?

Modern warfare creates new threats: FPV kamikaze drones, quadcopters with payload drops, mine danger, and constant shelling. Training participants gain practical experience in emergency situations, practice response algorithms, and acquire stress resistance skills.

After completing the training, participants receive an international HEAT or Refresher certificate, which is the basis for insurance companies and employers to grant permission to work in high-risk areas.

Two Formats Available

  • HEAT + DRONES (3 days): A full programme with tactical medicine, mine safety, risk assessment, and simulations during drone attacks.
  • Refresher + DRONES (1 day): An intensive course for those who have already completed HEFAT, HEAT, or tactical medicine and first aid courses. Allows participants to update knowledge and practice scenarios using FPV drones.
