I consider this training absolutely obligatory for everyone, despite my own fear at the sight of blood. The instructors pass on knowledge in a way that lets you break through that fear and gain real life-saving skills.
It was very interesting — my first time at an event this interactive, with people split into groups, constant tasks and an exchange of views.
Satisfied with the safety, the organisation and the subject. I gained important knowledge that will help protect confidentiality — my own and our beneficiaries' data.
Suddenly you see yourself from the outside and discover that what you do is far more valuable than you had thought.
I came away with positive impressions. I learned more about talking to people who have been through trauma, and about supporting myself and colleagues under stress.
Three days of active, informative training.
I never thought a training could be so absorbing, or that practical skills could strengthen team spirit this much. Instructive, with a dose of adrenaline.
An engaging training, excellently prepared on substance, with a plus for making space and time for discussion with participants.
After the training you realise you are no longer such an easy target.
The DH Foundation has been an excellent partner. The practical training and scenarios made our team feel as prepared as possible to report safely. The medical training was the best I have ever seen. After the course, journalists could confidently apply a tourniquet and perform basic trauma care — feeling empowered and ready to report in Ukraine.
It helped me clear my head a bit and realize that just because nothing happened on previous trips doesn't mean there's no danger in traveling to a conflict zone
Very well structured and expertly delivered material. I was impressed by the high professionalism of the lecturers and their readiness to discuss the audience's questions thoroughly and in depth.
A very well organised lecture with well-matched practical exercises.
A useful training for journalists, volunteers and NGO staff who end up in areas made dangerous by FPV drones. You come away understanding how to behave under drone threat.
Excellent — very useful knowledge and skills. Thank you to the organisers.
It is valuable that trainings like this are run for the civic sector and activists, because public activists and LGBTI+ people are more often targeted by cyberbullying, harassment and intimidation. Sincere thanks to the trainers for their effort and knowledge.
I liked the live format, with every participant actively involved. It would also have been valuable to discuss more real cases from the trainer's experience — instances of acute stress reactions in staff and how colleagues handled them — to reinforce the response algorithms with more examples.
This was an important training for an organisation under constant hybrid attack and expecting possible physical attacks. I recommend it to organisations that are not afraid to think about escalation and risk, and prepare for them in advance.
DH Foundation's courses stand out for their practical, real-life focus — from emergency first aid and evacuation drills to staying safe after shelling or drone attacks. These trainings are changing newsroom culture and practices.
I was enormously impressed by the speakers' expertise across every part of the training, by the substance and by the quality of the presentations. Their mission — to build a sense of responsibility towards the information space — will succeed and bring real change. Their approach is genuinely inspiring.
